‘London Has Fallen’…and Can’t Get up!

President Benjamin Asher (Aaron Eckhart) and Chief Security Agent Mike Banning (Gerard Butler) are attending the funeral of the British Prime Minister when all hell breaks loose. London is attacked by scores of terrorists who have somehow infiltrated British law enforcement and secret service. Every major British landmark – Westminster Abbey, Tower Bridge, St. Pauls, Buckingham Palace – are blown to smithereens. What’s a tourist to do? File for refund or buy more film?

Presiding Ladies of the White House

we present images not of Washington and Lincoln, or even of any of the presidents, but rather the Presiding Ladies of the White House, a biographical album by Lila G. A. Woolfall, with an introduction by noted author and editor Margaret Elizabeth Sangster, published in 1903 by the Bureau of National Literature and Art in Washington, DC. We decided to focus on women related to presidents who aren’t so commonly discussed. It’s a bit surprising today some of the details Woolfall felt important to include, but overall, it’s a pleasurable and informative read.. From top to bottom, they are:

“Art as Transformer: Understanding Gaza for a Better Tomorrow”

WE NEED YOUR VOTE: In December 2015, Lana Shaheen of Gaza won the 5th Anniversary Art Contest on the Archetype in Action website. Now Lana has the opportunity to win one of 14 scholarships sponsored by Coca Cola™ for Palestinian college students to attend Indiana University Business School to learn to turn her dreams into business reality. This is a potentially life changing opportunity for Lana, so I hope everyone will go to the scholarship website under the “Palestinians” category and vote for Lana’s project: “Art as Transformer: Understanding Gaza for a Better Tomorrow” https://scholarship.coca-cola.com/ps/ideas#id2204

Trump’s Black Magic; Bernie Sanders’ White Magic; The Distress of America (OWS)

“The daemonic … rests entirely on the unconscious forces of negation and destruction and on the reality of evil. The existence of the daemonic is demonstrated by the fact that black magic is not only possible but uncannily successful, so much so that it is tempting to assume that black magicians are possessed by a daemon. Hitler’s magic, for instance, consisted in his always saying what everybody was afraid to say out loud because it was considered too disreputable and inferior (resentment against the Jews). But his daemonism lay in the fact that his methods were uncannily effective and that he himself obviously became the victim of the daemon which had taken total possession of him.

Why Do We Need the Feminine Side of God?

Luckily, humanity is still evolving. We bring moral sensibility to the table. We no longer condone a dominator, dictator mentality. We question unjust cultural biases, economic practices, and religious beliefs, even our own. We want our lives to have meaning and purpose. We are in search of our souls. To find them we’re re-engaging the faculties of both sides of our brains in maturing ways.
